The content of this blog does not condone or support actively seeking confrontation, or use of a firearm in a violent manner to which is NOT justified based on fear of life being taken (either yours or someone you love). Depending on the county you live in, the Sheriff might support issuance of a concealed carry permit (CCW). In Ventura County, you may decide to apply for a CCW if you meet the criteria and have a good background and a history of good morale standing. Here you can go to research what is needed as well as the VCSO application process; I am listed on the "Vendor List."
The following data is pulled from the Bureau of Justice statistics indicating data from 2015-2017 of violent crimes (note the categories) of females the age of 12 years and older. The statistics are taken from those living in non-residential treatment homes; basically the "common" household across American. Overall, there are increases across the board as it relates to violent crimes against women; over 5 million reports in total. The alarming rate of violent crimes against women is a severe concern for society and lends strong justification for a females to consider a concealed carry permit. The unfortunate breakout of the statistics does not indicate by state. We can assume states with reasonable concealed carry laws give their citizens and community members (regardless of gender) a chance for self defense. For example, in Oklahoma a Constitutional carry law was just passed affording all good standing citizens a right to carry a concealed weapon for self defense (House Bill 2597).
I often try to understand the great resistance of some states (such as California and New York) with regards to law-abiding citizens being able to execute their inherent right to self-defense. This is something (constitutionally) we never give up ("the right to keep, and bear arms"); in fact many states such as Hawaii are in direct violation of the Constitution and those "law makers" should be removed from office (SCR42). Whether or not the resolution will make its way through Congress is irrelevant as it shows the blatant disregard for individual liberties the United States was founded upon ("shall not be infringed"). And, it wholeheartedly indicates just how brazen and out-in-the-open some in the Democratic party are about the disarmament of law abiding citizens without any justification. Only 1.3% of inmates in the federal justice system used a "registered gun" in the progress of their crime (see report). In America, 36% of all of the world's firearms are owned by law-abiding citizens of which are not committing crimes; there are over 400 million Americans nationwide.
Would you cut off the horns of the gazelle in and effort to disallow it from being able to defend itself from the apex predator?
As part of the "animal kingdom" we forget what we are, how we evolved ("only the dead see the end of war - Plato") and what we've become ("civilized"). Our ability to stand up straight and speak words doesn't separate us from our deep-rooted human ancestry nor does it allow us to be so arrogant to assume we are no longer part of the animal kingdom and are special. There are apex predators in every animal society; defending life is something we all have a right to and have had a past of having to do throughout our history.

We offer comprehensive Concealed Carry courses and are an approved vendor with the Ventura County Sheriff's Office. The California law calls for a minimum of 8 hours of training for certification; we REQUIRE 16 hours.

- Of the 2,500,000 annual self-defense cases using guns, more than 7.7% (192,500) are by women defending themselves against sexual abuse.
- When a woman was armed with a gun or knife, only 3% of rape attacks were completed, compared to 32% when the woman was unarmed.
- The probability of serious injury from an attack is 2.5 times greater for women offering no resistance than for women resisting with guns. Men also benefit from using guns, but the benefits are smaller: Men are 1.4 times more likely to receive a serious injury.
- 28.5% of women have one or more guns in the house.
- 41.7% of women either own or have convenient access to guns
A staggering increase of Rapes Since Gun Ban
The number of recorded firearms offenses in the United Kingdom increased significantly after the law entered force. Excluding offenses with air weapons, firearms offenses peaked at 11,088 in 2005/2006, compared to only 4,904 in 1997. The number of offenses involving firearms subsequently declined, but the 6,492 offenses recorded in the year ending March 2018 is still a greater number than that in 1997. Handguns remain the most common kind of firearm used in crime in the UK, with 2,847 offenses in the year ending March 2018.
